In order to help new international students better adapt to the new learning and living environment, the School of Nursing held a welcome ceremony on October 15. Ma Jun, deputy Secretary of the School of International Education, Wang Sheng, Zhu Xuejiao, Lou Yan, Dong Guirong, Wang Zijie, Li Jiamin, Liu Siyu, Gao Wen, Zhang Xiaoning, Hong Shaohua from School of Nursing, senior student representative, and all nursing freshmen attended the welcome ceremony.

At the beginning of the meeting, all students watched the documentary of school of nursing. The welcome meeting was then hosted by Vice Dean Lou Yan, who also briefly introduced the school of Nursing from the perspective of history, faculty and international student programs. Vice Dean Zhu Xuejiao spoke on behalf of the teachers, encouraging international students to communicate with teachers and constantly improve their comprehensive quality. Wang Sheng, secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Nursing, taught students that their role is not only students, but also cultural ambassadors and constructor of international friendship. He encouraged students to strive for professional excellence, to experience Hangzhou and get integrated into Chinese culture.

Senior representative Owusu Joseph shared his experience and gains in school with new students, and provided specific suggestions on study and life, and encouraged them to cherish their learning opportunities. The school awarded Owusu Joseph the Contribution Award for his work for the school. Witczak Patrick Alexander from Germany spoke for the freshman, sharing his initial experience in Hangzhou Normal University. Afterwards, the freshmen introduced each other in turn. The teachers present then pinned the school badge for all nursing students.

After the welcome ceremony, Wang Zijie, deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, shared a series of activities with international students, such as International Nurses Capping Ceremony, Top Ten Singers competition and sports meeting, encouraging freshmen to actively integrate into the campus life. Dong Guirong, the international student liaison, explained the training program, enabling freshmen to establish learning goals and step into the new step.
